Energy drinks increase healthy young adults' risk of cardiac events
New research shows that consumption of one 16-ounce energy drink increases blood pressure and the stress hormone chemical norepinephrine in healthy young adults significantly, which can predispose an increased risk of cardiac events.

CHD genetic risk information disclosure results in lowered LDL levels
The MI-GENES study demonstrates that disclosing genetic risk information for a common disease such as congestive heart disease (CHD) to patients can result in changes in a relevant health outcome, such as lowered low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels.

Isosorbide mononitrate does not improve exercise tolerance in patients with HFpEF
Researchers found that patients who have heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) did not have increased exercise tolerance after taking isosorbide mononitrate compared to placebo. Accelerometers showed that patient activity decreased as the dose of medication increased.
