CAIMP provides family-centered therapy for children with mood disorders
Mayo Clinic's Child and Adolescent Integrated Mood Program (CAIMP), a hospital-based, outpatient psychotherapy program, has been shown to reduce inpatient hospital readmissions by 80 percent for at least one year after patients and their families complete it.

Research

GeneSight platform tested in adolescent depression
A few studies suggest that therapy based on a genetic variation treatment algorithm may improve response in adults with depression. Mayo Clinic investigators are currently recruiting adolescents with depression for a similar trial.

Actigraphy outperforms sleep logs in total sleep time monitoring
Narcolepsy is misdiagnosed in as many as 50 percent of patients. Adding actigraphy to the evaluation leads to more accurate diagnosis and treatment.
